Brian Tasker founded and edited the poetry journal Bare Bones which ran from 1992 to 1995. He has published several collections of haiku, the most recent being The Sound of Rain in 1999. A collection of tanka, The Wind-blown Clouds, was published in 1995. He also recently edited an anthology of English-language tanka, In the Ship's Wake, for Iron Press which was published in 2001.

 

 


stormy afternoon
between peals of thunder
the ice-cream van's bell
in and out of our argument a butterfly

the blind man
flower by flower
smells the posy
summer storm
on an old radio
jazz crackles
